The Vivo Singing Studio Bursary, supported by Bawtry Arts Music Project, has been created to support talented young performers preparing for further training who may not otherwise have access to regular, high-quality singing tuition.

This programme is designed for students applying to:

• Sixth Form Performing Arts Colleges or Specialist Schools

• Musical Theatre or Classical (Vocal) Degree Courses

​

At this stage, the level of preparation required increases significantly, and access to consistent vocal training can become a barrier. This bursary is intended to support those who are serious about progressing, but who may face financial or access barriers to regular lessons.

​

Lessons will be delivered in person at Vivo Singing Studio. Applicants should be based in the UK and able to attend weekly sessions throughout the programme.

What the bursary includes

• 11 one-to-one singing lessons with Vivo Singing Studio

• Delivered as a structured summer programme (June–August)

• Focused audition preparation and technical development

Each student will:

• Build reliable vocal technique

• Prepare 2–3 audition pieces

• Develop performance confidence

• Take part in a mock audition-style session

Who you’ll be working with

​

All bursary lessons will be delivered by Kamilla Dunstan, founder of Vivo Singing Studio.

​

Kamilla is a professional Mezzo-Soprano with a career spanning both performance and teaching. She has performed principal roles with companies including the Royal Ballet & Opera (formerly the Royal Opera House), Glyndebourne, and English National Opera.

​

Her performance experience includes venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, and she has been featured on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

​

Alongside Vivo Singing Studio, Kamilla teaches on the Degree Programme at Emil Dale Academy as a one-to-one singing tutor.

​

Her teaching focuses on developing strong, reliable vocal technique alongside confident, individual performance. She works closely with students preparing for auditions into sixth form programmes, performing arts colleges and conservatoires, supporting them in reaching the level required for successful applications.

​

Kamilla has also delivered masterclasses for the Samling Institute as part of the Samling Academy Programme.

​

Where appropriate, sessions may also incorporate work with a professional pianist to support audition preparation.

Who this is for

​

This bursary is aimed at students who:

• Are aged 15-18 (Years 11, 12 &13 or equivalent)

• Are preparing for further training (Sixth Form or Degree Level)

• Show clear commitment to their development

• Would benefit from structured vocal training

• May face financial or access barriers to regular lessons

Students from both Musical Theatre and Classical pathways are welcome to apply.

Application process

​

To apply, you will need to submit:

• A short personal statement outlining your goals and current training

• Details of any training you are currently undertaking

• A short video of you singing (1-2 songs, informal recordings are absolutely fine)

• A supporting statement (if under 18, from a teacher, parent, or guardian)

You will also be asked to share any relevant information about your access to training and any barriers you may currently face.
